History of Startime Variety

Founded in 1967 the Society was called Tenterfield Ladies Club, “Startime” started out putting on variety shows performed to raise money for local charities.  Now we work on our annual pantomime, which takes place in January each year.

In years gone by our Summer Shows have always kept to the essence of those early shows performed by Tenterfield Ladies and Men, including a variety of genres from West End musicals to current chart hits which appeal to audiences of all ages, and high energy performances to keep everyone entertained from start to finish. Our Pantomimes will always uphold tradition and fairy-tales using acting, singing and dancing in an entertaining and family orientated way.

Donations:
Startime still donates money to local charities.  If you are from a charity and wish to be considered for a donation, please use our
contact form  to tell us a little about your charity. A donation is usually made in September following  a vote by the membership at our AGM.

Charity for 2023/2024:

Each year Startime chooses a charity for donations from our after show bucket collections and profits from our shows.

This year the charity we have chosen is very close to our hearts.

Our charity for 2024 is
The Fire Fighters Charity.

If you want to donate to this charity, please visit: https://www.firefighterscharity.org.uk/how-we-can-help

You can also still give to our charity for 2022/2023 which was raising funds for Ava the Great Granddaughter of Christine Davenport, founder of Startime.

Christine is raising money to research Usher Syndrome Type II which Ava has been diagnosed with. The 22 month old was born with a hearing impairment, but has been told she is high risk of losing her sight.
